Default Can sensitive data be encrypted in MS Access? - 04-30-2011 , 09:52 PM

I am creating an order database which includes my customer's credit
card numbers, exp. date and security code. Is there way to encrypt the
text field that will be used to store the credit card #? If not, is
there another way to safeguard this info?

the ONLY way to encrypt data in Access is to use 'Access Data
Projects' with SQL 2005 or SQL 2008

John, you may want to take a look at this thread in which the storage
of credit card data is specifically discussed. Unfortunately it is not
so straight forward as just 'slapping some crypto on it', or as Aaron
suggest changing product. The thread can be found here (its long but
has examples and reference links):

(be mindful of any word wrap on the url, its a long one.)
