Default Break excel link - 08-23-2011 , 01:59 PM

I have an excel pivot that links to an Access table. My problem is
that if any user has the excel open, I cannot refresh the access
table. Is there a way to append to the table with the excels still
open, or a way to break the link so I can append? The users are not
local so trying to get them to all exit would be a problem as would
getting them to close down everynight. The update takes place in the
morning.
Thanks in advance for any help or direction you can send my way.

You can certainly logout users who have been idle for a long time:

Maybe you can write some similar code in Excel.
