"J David Ellis" <nospam (AT) home (DOT) org> wrote new to access 2007, i want to export seveeral dozen records, each of which contains an ms-word 2003 document of a few pages. how can i export all records as separate .doc files? --david There are multiple ways to "store" documents in Access. Without knowing which you are using, I don't think anyone will be able to answer your question. In previous versions of Access, it was, in fact, most common to store documents as external files, and save the fully-qualified path-and-filename in the database, but you could also store them as BLOBs (Binary Large Objects) in Memo or OLE Object fields; or as actual OLE Objects in OLE Object fields. If you are storing as Attachments (an Access 2007-specific feature) then someone else will have to assist you, because I am still using Access 2003 (and some earlier versions). Larry Linson Microsoft Office Access MVP thank you, Mr. Linson. i now know where to begin. |
