Default access neophyte needs help with export - 06-16-2009 , 05:05 PM






new to access 2007, i want to export seveeral dozen records, each of which
contains an ms-word 2003 document of a few pages. how can i export all records
as separate .doc files? --david

There are multiple ways to "store" documents in Access. Without knowing
which you are using, I don't think anyone will be able to answer your
question. In previous versions of Access, it was, in fact, most common to
store documents as external files, and save the fully-qualified
path-and-filename in the database, but you could also store them as BLOBs
(Binary Large Objects) in Memo or OLE Object fields; or as actual OLE
Objects in OLE Object fields.

If you are storing as Attachments (an Access 2007-specific feature) then
someone else will have to assist you, because I am still using Access 2003
(and some earlier versions).
