I have a Access database - front end/back end set up. One of my clients has just set it up to run on a local area network using a wired connection between a Win 7 Vaio laptop, and Win 7 HP desktop (new). The speed of the connection is agonisingly slow in either direction, despite other applications running normally. Such as 5 min to open a table. The application works perfectly on many other networks. Initially I thought this was the HP security problem described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2397391, which I have encountered before and fixed. However, after removing virtually all the HP software on the PC, the problem persists. The PC has a touch screen. Any suggestions, other than buying a non-HP PC? Both PCs use Trend Micro antivirus, but I'm pretty sure this is not the problem. |
