Default Access 2000 deployment problem - 02-02-2011 , 07:01 PM

Hello

I have developed some apps using MSACCESS 2000 and I'm using the Access
Deployment tool from SageKey to install my apps.

This system has worked OK until this year when I tried to install one of my
app on a 64 bit computer (Windows 7). I did manage to get my app working by
doing some tweaking but it is not an easy install.

I am looking for option on how to get my apps to install on 64 bit systems.
SageKey can handle a 64 bit system but does not support Access 2000 anymore.
I'm wondering if I should upgrade my apps to a more recent version of
Access. If I upgrade Access it seems I can't buy a developers version
anymore that would allow me to create and distribute runtime version of my
apps. Now I need to join MSDN (Microsoft Developers Network) to get access
to the Runtime Packaging Wizard and the Royalty Free Distribution Licence.
Joining MSDN gives me access to all kinds of developers tools not only for
Access but also C++, dotnet and a lot more. I don't need most of the tools
MSDN offers.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Did anyone run into the same situation? What did you do?

Thank You
Kind Regards

G.Gerard

Gerard,
I do not know whether it helps to know that Sagekey's deployment
wizard works with 64 bit Windows for Access 2003.

No, you don't need to purchase MSDN to download the Access 2007 and
2010 runtime kits. Just visit the download centre and search.
