Default A2010 skills migration - 09-28-2011 , 06:34 AM

Hi Everyone,

My shiny new Office 2010 has arrived and is installed. So far so good. I
am working with some simple 'get up to speed' applications at the moment
in my spare time (read: 3am when I cant sleep because the dog is
annoying me). I have learned that there is a significant difference in
capabilities between A2003 and A2010. So much so that I am finding
myself a little lost. Sure I can muddle my way through. After all the
principals are the same, but in A2010 there are different ways to act on
those principals. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good book or
other resource for crash coursing myself up-to-date? I need to learn the
behaviour of this new animal.....

See whether Allen Browne's http://www.allenbrowne.com/Access2007.html helps
at all.

I was in a similar position recently and found the following book
helpful:

Access 2010 Programmer's Reference by Teresa Henning, Rob Cooper,
Geoffrey Griffith and Jerry Dennison. (Wiley, 2010)

Good luck. I have converted 3 production databases successfully.
Still not had the need (or courage) to create/design ribbons or right
button click shortcut menus.
