I have a single front end database, and a number of alternative BE databases that can be linked in; call them BE1.AccDb and BE2.AccDb. I then open a second copy of the FE database (FE2.AccDb). If I then link the tables from BE1.AccDb to FE1.AccDb, those tables also show up in FE2.AccDb. I had assumed that the 2 FE databases would work entirely separately. Am I missing something as there are occasions where it would be handy 2 have both databases open. There are a number of people common to both BEs and it would be handy to copy and paste between them Thanks for any ideas Phil |

If I copy the FE database (FE.AccDb) and call it by a different name like FEX.AccDb, then there appears no problem. Access seems to get confused if the same FE is opened in 2 different sessions of Access Phil |

Are you sure you were not opening the same FE file? |
