Following the delivery of yet another brilliantly succesful UK Ingres
Users Association conference, a number of the committee are taking a
well-earned rest, which means that we currently have three vacancies.

If you would be interested in participating in the running of the UK IUA
and its annual conference, please email us at info (AT) uk-iua (DOT) org.uk.

Participation involves 8-10 conference calls a year, mostly in the
months leading up to the annual user conference. Calls last 30-60
minutes but are toll-free. There are also typically two face-to-face
meetings, usually held in Slough. There will also innumerable email
exchanges.

You don't need to be based in the UK but it would be helpful if you
weren't in a wildly different time zone; you should of course be
able to attend the face-to-face meetings, and we conduct our business in
English.

We'd be especially interested to hear from anyone who would like to have
a go at maintaining/developing our web site. We currently use Drupal 7
but we're having trouble with it. If you know how to make it
behave, or if you know Joomla or anything else, we want to hear from
you.

We are also looking for a new agenda chair to collate presentation
submissions and to recruit specific topics for the annual conference.
You will have a significant hand in shaping the tone and direction of
the conference theme.

We could also stand to have someone to take on editorship of the web
site content (articles, photos, etc.) and some marketing collaterals
(e.g. a brochure).

There is also an opening for an open source coordinator. You'd be
responsible for collaborating with Ingres Corporation over the running
of their development sprints. You could also organize coding events of
your own or participation in related events.

But mainly, we just want people who want to help develop and grow the
Ingres community in the UK and elsewhere.
