For the fourth year in a row Ingres Corporation is running an Ingres and
an OpenROAD code sprint during the weekend preceding the UK IUA
conference. Emma McGrattan (SVP, Engineering) is coordinating them.
The sprints will take place at a hotel in Slough and will run from
lunchtime on Saturday, June 4th until dinnertime on Sunday, June 5th.
I believe Ingres Corp will be providing accommodation for participants
again this year, so be sure to contact Emma ASAP if you want to
take part.
If you don't know Emma's direct email address I've set up a temporary
re-direct so you can email her via sprint2011 (AT) uk-iua (DOT) org.uk.
Participants will be asked to bring their own laptop. There may
be a couple of spares available to borrow if you really don't have one.
Each time Ingres hold a code-sprint they find ways to improve the
events so I¢m looking forward to this being the most successful
code-sprint event ever!
These sprints are really great events, with much community spirit,
inventiveness, and learning. Not to be missed. You can an idea
what they're like from Emma's account of the 2009 sprint at
