Yesterday I upgraded a 9.2 community edition system to 10.1 and ran a
"hello world" benchmark on it. By that, I mean it's a program that I
have used for demonstrating the effects of changes to configuration
settings etc., but I ran it with a single simulated user just to make
sure that I had connectivity and compatibility.
I wasn't really looking for anything except success or failure, but it
was pretty obvious that 10.1 was a lot quicker at getting through the
work. 9.2 did 433 transactions in one minute, but 10.1 did 712 in the
same time.
I look forward to seeing how it does with a large number of concurrent
users.
