Your up late its 2am on the West Coast. !!!

IVM is not running , there isn't a version.rel file on the whole disc.
The Program Files/Ingres/5.1 directory was still there - I renamed the
ingres directory to avoid confusion to C:\Program Files\Ingresxx.

I also removed references to the 5.1 directory from the system logicals.
They were still there after I tried to unsuccessfully put 4.1 back.

I am just wondering if the 2.6 install was looking at the C:\Program
Files\Ingres\...... directory ...... this is too confusing......

Check and see if IVM is still running. The OIADFDATA.DLL indicates that
this is not an Ingres 2.6 instance. What is in your version.rel file.

Its too complicated to say how I got here - but it was via installing OR
5.1 over OR 4.1 inadvertently trashed 4.1 but on removing 5.1; 4.1 and
the underlying ingres install (2.6 I think). I have ended up with ingres
directories still on my PC.

the 2.6 uninstaller gives this message




plus many more

the uninstaller then complains about not being able to delete the ingres
bin directory.


If I try to delete it myself I get an error
cannot delete OIADFDATA.DLL

I cannot rename the C:\IngresII directory same sort of message - there is
no Ingres process running as far as I can see (and the disk is not full)

This is on windows XP.

I would like to remove Ingres completely before reinstalling everything
from scratch - can anyone help?

Is it possible to run OpenROAD 5.1 and OpenROAD 4.1 on the same account on
the same PC?

I am embarking on a trial of 5.1 using the evaluation edition and would
like if possible to leave 4.1 running
