Hi Mike,
No you are not thick. I've been having trouble for a while myself.
Lately when I try to log in I get redirected to a broken page: which has
a <login start> text but nothing else.
It sucks.
I've been too busy to do much about it. But if someone in IngreCorp is
listening it'd be nice to get this fixed real soon.

Gang,
I must be thick, because every time I want to access
content on community.ingres.com, I have to reset my
password or create yet another user.
It isn't that I've forgotten my old password. On the
contrary, I eventually get in with my old password!
But at first, it says my old password is incorrect.
Then, when I go through the much too complicated process
to reset my password, I get a password sent to me that
doesn't work.
A little while later, however, I can log in with
my original password.
*Sigh*
