Is there way of checked thoroughly integrity of journal files, without actually run database recovery? Auditdb bekkons, but how exhaustive check would that be?

Hi,
You might want to try "Journal Analyzer" depending on what version of
Ingres you use.
Details are found in "System Administrator Guide" at:

Hope this helps.

Hello

You could also try auditdb -v -all. This will dump the whole contents
of the journals, including system catalogs changes etc etc , thus the
output can be pretty large. But as far as I know, this is the most
comprehensive run, since it will have to read and dump each log record
that has been written in the journals. Assuming a journal is damaged at
some point , auditdb should complain in some way.

Hope this helps

Thanks
Armand
