Default Installing SharePoint Protocol Support on Linux - 09-07-2009 , 10:08 AM

Just installed the "Ingres-Alfresco Linux Bundle"
(Ingres-Alfresco-3.0.0stable-8-linux-installer.tgz) and now need to
integrate with MS Office but I am not sure how to go about it.

I found a documentation on "Installing SharePoint Protocol Support on
Linux" but I don't think it is applicable for this bundle installation.
I could not find the *alfresco.war file* in my installation.
Quote:
To install the SharePoint Protocol Support:

1. Shut down your Alfresco server.
2. Install the vti-module.amp file into the alfresco.war file using
the Module_Management_Tool. The vti-module.amp file holds the
functionality for the Sharepoint connector. When you install this file
into alfreso.war, it responds to the SharePoint requests from Office,
and therefore allows Alfresco to appear as a SharePoint server.
3. Copy the ROOT.war file into the Tomcat bundle webapps folder:
1. Delete the ROOT folder from the webapps folder (if there is
one).
2. Copy ROOT.war into the webapps folder.
3. Start Tomcat.

Is it possible that is already included in the bundle installation? If
not,
How can I proceed in adding the Sharepoint Protocol Support?

Pls help.

Thank you.

Hi,

I don't think that the bundle includes the vti-module which is required
for support of the SharePoint protocol.

The instructions that you have found involves repackaging of an
alfresco war archive to include the module, but the bundle doesn't
include the war archive.

It is possible to perform the equivalent steps the the module
management tool and unpack the AMP module manually.

hi notnull.

thanks for the info. Do you know where i can find the documentation
installing additional *Alfresco components*?

Among other components, I would like to install:
• Installing Alfresco WCM
• Installing Microsoft Office® Add-ins
• Installing SharePoint Protocol Support

Thank you for your help.

Ceci

Hi Ceci,

There is some information at 'Downloading and Installing WCM -
AlfrescoWiki'
(http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Downlo...Installing_WCM) for WCM
but I don't know how current the steps are.

For Microsoft Office Add-ins you should be able to download them from
'Community Edition file list - AlfrescoWiki'
(http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Commun...tion_file_list) and install
them.

There aren't any instructions for installing the vti-module.amp into
the bundle.

If you're just evaluating Alfresco and Ingres you could try the
Icebreaker ECM appliance for 60 days which already includes the
vti-module.amp.
