E_GC4005_SEQUENCING "New request made before prior request completed."

Can anyone shed light on this one?

I have a java application connecting to an Ingres9.2.0 installation. It threw a wobbly last night and refused to release. We had to boot it out of theserver.

Is the Java app using select loops? A selectloop doesn't allow to
execute another statement while the selectloop is not completed and it
returns this error.
