Lets hope they are taking the right Actian.

Reminds me of the meeting that explained the rationale behind the
changes of logo at Ask ingres. They could just have said that the ball
in front of the pyramid looks kinda pretty, but they didn't.

Actian sounds like a pretty bland name. We should hold sweep to see how
many times it gets misspelt in the first week of existence.

I guess it's a reversal of the ASK situation - ASK a solutions software
company buying a database company, now we have a database company
looking to become a solutions company and wanting to distance itself
from any one product.

That just fucking sucks...its so bad it would suck the sweat off a dead mans balls.

Is there a problem with spelling Action correctly?

I liked 'IngresCorp'....

I'm so underwhelmed by Actian...I'm sort of like Manny the mammoth when he said "Rudy! Oh that's a relief. I thought it'd be something really scary like 'Sheldon' or 'Tim'"

Even the colours on the new Actian website seem to be a particularly offensive shade of blue.

And then it just got worse....

My boss has just started referring to me as 'ActianMan'. He's humming the Batman theme and wants to know if I have any superpowers like being able to jump out of a tall building using only a small handkerchief as a parachute.

Seriously though, a name change was inevitable. But my money was on
"VectorWise Corp" or some slight variation. Once again my negligible
marketing acumen is plainly exposed and open to riducule.
