Default [Info-Ingres] Ingres at the Australian Architecture forum last month - 09-11-2009 , 10:29 AM

Ingres received a bunch of attention last month at the Australian
Architecture Forum in Melbourne and Sydney on 24th and 25th August.

Emma McGrattan of Ingres gave excellent presentations on open standards and
scaling applications to virtualised and cloud environments.

Adrian Hamilton of Peerless Foods dazzled the crowd with his presentation on
mobile applications and free data transfers between Ingres, App Server and
Blackberry PDA.

For a bit more info about the event check out the AAF website,
http://www.architectureforum.net.au/
It is slow to start, I guess it is getting a lot of hits. There is a
picture of the Ingres stand showing Jaspersoft, Alfresco and Ingres logos.
And also some cute mugshots of the speakers.

sssshhhh! I've hijacked Adrian's presentation and a couple of PDAs and will
bring them with me to the user meeting at Slough, Monday 28th September. I
hope to run a live demonstration to our server on the other side of the
world - It is pretty cool stuff! More news soon.

That was a really great event (held in both Melbourne and Sydney) and
I'm blogging about it at the moment - expect a post on Monday, I
guess.

I can vouch for the coolness of the Peerless demo. I hope you do
manage to get to repeat it in the UK Paul. It is a very impressive
application and way faster, and cooler, than anything else I've seen
on the Blackberry.

Since this is will be my first visit to England I've been learning a lot
about the country and history. I'm bringing my family for a bit of a
holiday leading up to the conference and they will be visiting castles and
cathedrals while we are working hard at the code sprint. Can they look you
up at Windsor or Buckingham Palace?

Err, which forum are you referring to? Maybe you will find 'this wiki
page' (http://community.ingres.com/wiki/Comp.databases.ingres) useful.

5ergej, yes, I think you can read comp.databases.ingres in your news
client, but unfortunately not the whole forum.
