Default [Info-Ingres] GreatMates Suite (Ingres rules and procedures tools) - 02-03-2011 , 02:16 AM

Greetings All,

For a number of years, I have been using Thentec's GreatMates Suite of tools
for Ingres

In particular

ProcMate (rules and procedures workbench) and

DiffMate (schema comparison tool)

I have used both the OR3.5 and the OR4.1 versions of the tools,

However

This year, now that the year has rolled over from 2010, all the suites tools
have failed, with 'License expired' contact thentec.com.au for an updated
license string.

Trouble is, Thentec went out of business more than 5 years ago.

Does anyone know of a an equivalent tool set available (either
shareware/licensed or otherwise)

Or of course, how to generate/get an updated license string that will allow
use of the product once more.

PS. Changing the PC's clock back to 2010 works just fine, but not really
convenient as the PC's are updated on login and /or boot from the domain
time source.

TIA

Richard

I don't know what ProcMate does, but I wonder if the Ingres Visual
Database Object Difference Analyzer that is bundled with the Windows
version of Ingres may be a reasonable replacement for DiffMate?

Hi Roy,

Yes, it (IvDoDa) is comparable with diffmate, but imho diffmate has a more
user-friendly output,

ProcMate is a rules and procedures workbench that provides syntax checking,
pretty formatting and is gui based for the management of rules and
procedures.

Cheers

Richard
