Default Divorce completed - 11-09-2010 , 03:52 PM

This is one of many articles trumpeting basically the same news:

http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...in_ingres.html

I'm sure we all had roughly the same feelings about CA, although maybe I
was more willing than some to be grateful for their vampire embrace in
June 1994. It was better than the narrowly avoided alternative.

I am delighted to see that G&H are investing yet more money into their
Ingres project.

Woo Hoo!
I was working for RTI, in the 80's and 90's then with ASK, when they
bought RTI. ASK drove Ingres into the ground, then CA bought ASK.

Slight reprieve for Ingres, but CA weren't all that interested in
Ingres. They haphazardly tried to use Ingres as the datastore for
Unicenter, but dropped that quickly for MS SQLserver.

CA eventually closed its office where I worked.

I, too, am delighted to see CA out of the scene!

Like everyone else who loves and supports Ingres, and knows its history.
Good news! Bye bye CA!
