config.dat annoyances on Windows clients -

Hi all,
I have always hated that "user does not have privileges in the
config.dat" problem when it comes to changing vnode entries on Windows
clients.
Yes, I know how to workaround that...
iisetres ii.%computername%.privileges.user.%username%
SERVER_CONTROL,NET_ADMIN,MONITOR,TRUSTED
will add the proper line for the current user to the config.dat
I wonder why this isn't implemented more "Windows-like".
Instead of relying on that old fashioned config.dat entries why not
just do it this way...?
user is local or domain admin --> user can stop / start Ingres
processes and can edit vnodes
What do you think?
