Building Novell appliances with Ingres -

As those of you who attended the UK IUA conference last week will know,
Novell were showing off their very slick web-based appliance studio for
configuring and managing your own Linux distribution images. (Novell
were also the major sponsor of the conference.)
Yesterday I attended a Reseller Event at Novell's Bracknell office where
they were again demonstrating the studio and provided a lot more
information on it. It really was very impressive. So much so that I
was motivated to try using it.
I ran into a problem which will probably be corrected in time, but until
it is, anyone wanting to configure a SUSE linux distribution with Ingres
should take a look at Dean Vernon's excellent walk-through at
http://ingres.posterous.com/ingres-n...e-ingres-appli
*The absolutely key step needed to do a successful build with Ingres is
to select "Additional Templates..." on the first page.* If you don't do
that then as of the time I am writing this, you can't include Ingres
in the appliance.
