I've tried my old links, Google searches, IIUG, and the IBM websites.
The closest thing I can find is the InfoCenter stuff. Where are the
free manuals that I can download to my PC?

Once there, we can either:

- Navigate through index on the left side, by categories: Under Servers, there is 7.x, 9.x, Online, SE, XPS, Red Brick, etc.; under Tools we have 4GL, C-ISAM, etc; under Clients we have Client SDK, Enterprise Gateway, etc.
- or Click on link "Alphabetical listing of titles (2006 and earlier)" on the central page, to get the list of all titles.

you can search for each version by googling for the information center of that version

Go to www.informix.com. In the menu at the top left click on <Informix
Library>. There is a menu box at the top right side now that lists the
various InfoCenters, but near the bottom of that menu box is the link that
says <PDF Documentation for Informix 11.70> click there (the direct link is:
http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27019520, but it's good to
learn how to navigate the IBM Informix Zone). On that page there will be
three tables. The top one has links to individual document files for
different sub-versions, the second has links to ZIP files containing the
entire documentation set for each sub-version, and the third table has links
you can follow if yo want to pay for a CD with the docs on it. I download
the full documentation sets, unpack the ZIP in a directory and bookmark the
index.html file in there into my browser so I always have the full doc set
at my fingertips even when I cannot get online.
