Default Stream Queue for onbar/ontape - 08-26-2011 , 11:35 AM

IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC4WE
AIX 6.1.0.0.-1^2

Using onstat -g stq you can monitor the Stream Queue for the backup.
I can control the number of buffers for onbar using BAR_NB_XPORT_COUNT

For ontape I am only showing 4 Queues.
How can I adjust or tune the number of Stream Queues for ontape?

I remember John Miller III had a presentation about onstat -g stq.

onstat -g stq output:
IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC4WE -- On-Line -- Up 27
days 20:01:03 -- 7149584 Kbytes

Stream Queue: (session 32087 cnt 4) 0:7000000c5c6f400
1:7000000cabad400 2:7000000d4528400 3:7000000cf100400
Full Queue: (cnt 3 waiters 0) 0:0 1:7000000cf100400
2:7000000c5c6f400
Empty Queue: (cnt 0 waiters 1)

I believe it can be modified using the env variable
ARCHIVE_BUF_COUNT. It looks like it takes an integer number with a
range of valid values of 3 - 99. Try setting that env variable before
kicking off ontape and see if that affects the onstat -g stq output.
I believe it should.
