Default Simple client tool - 08-26-2010 , 01:48 PM

Any body know of a simple tool for informix like "dbaccess" on the
client either windows or linux? I installed CSDK and want to run some
queries from the client. Appreciate if there is any list of tools or
links that I could use. I am not looking for anything fancy.

thanks,
idos

For linux/unix you can download the SQLCMD package from the IIUG site.

ftp://ftp.iiug.org/pub/informix/pub/sqlcmd-86.00.tgz

Aubit4GL has 'adbaccess' - which is pretty much a dbaccess clone -
with some little extras (like the ^B lookups in the SQL editor - type
in "select * from sys^B" and it shows all the tables beginning with
'sys' - likewise if you press control-B when you have
sometab.somethingelse - it does a column lookup from 'sometab')
Its also written in Aubit4GL (mostly - with some embedded C) - so its
pretty easy to extend if you need to...

Should run on both Linux and Windows...
(If you have any problems installing it - just email me - or the
aubit4gl-discuss mailing list on sourceforge)

<ME_TOO!>
SQSL (see sig) is a scripting language that comes in the shape of a standalone
command line interface and standalone dbaccess replacement (you'll need either
informix 4gl or aubit 4gl to build the curses interface), has native windows,
cygwin and unix ports, and sports multiple nifty features like control
statements, formatting facility, parallel operation, multi database engine
connectivity (ids, db2 and solid, currently) and a host of other goodies.
