Default Session Timeout on IDS10 - 11-30-2011 , 12:51 PM

We are having an issue with idle sessions timing out after 60 minutes on our IDS 10.0 server (HP-UX 11i). I have looked through all the documentation and can't find any default time out setting. Does anyone know of anything that may be contributing to this problem?

Thanks

Are your connections passing through a firewall? That could be the cause.
We've seen that happen on idle connections.

Network, probably.

Informix NEVER times out connections - well not until 11.70 when there is a
way to cause such a timeout, but in 10.00, no such feature. More likely it
is HPUX or the users' shell timing out the login itself for inactivity.
The ksh timeout is controlled by the environment variable TMOUT. Check
your /etc/profile, the users' .profiles, and their .kshrc files to see if
that variable is set to 3600 seconds. Set it to zero to get maximum
timeout - some versions of ksh have a compiled in maximum that can't be
exceeded instead of zero being 'infinite'.
