Default Script failure - 08-24-2005 , 11:37 AM

I was recently assigned to a project that uses informix (I have no
previous experience). The base system is an windows box running
Windows Server 2000. They have an existing build script that creates
and loads a database that has worked on previous machines. They
recently acquired new hardware (operating system is the same) and they
imaged these machines the same way as previous machines. When they try
to run the build script on these new machines, several steps do not
seem to execute the way they should. One of the errors I can find
indicates that the build_smi:mt_exec failed with a status of -1 and an
errno of 0. In the windows event log, there are messages that seem to
indicate that a MAX_OBJECTS for read/write has been exceeded. Other
steps fail because the database is not in the appropriate state for the
operation (e.g., adding logical space).

Is there something in the environment settings or security policies
that could cause problems like these? When run separately from the
command line, the individual steps seem to operate correctly, so am
wondering if it has to do with the environment the script is running in.

Problem has moved to a particular onbar -s -l that seems to be
hanging. No cpu, no memory is showing as used

Latest status:
Script successfully runs to completion sometimes. Other times, it
hangs during an ontape -s -l command. It appears to have problems
during log switch, but it isn't always the same log that has the
problem.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause an intermittent hanging like
this?
