Default rstcb - 10-01-2007 , 12:15 PM

Version IDS 10:

In different onstat output I see "tcb" and "rstcb". I am not sure what
it means. I generally grep for address from rstcb in onstat -u output
to find out about the session. But I am not sure what these mean.

RSAM Transaction Control Block

IB that the 'tcb' entries on other onstat output are the same, but not
100%.

FWIW. It's the memory address of the major data structure that IDS
uses internally to track resources assigned to a session thread.

Doesn't tcb mean "thread control block"?

Oh, sure, make me go look it up. From the Adminstrator's Reference
description of onstat -g ath:

tcb Thread control block access
rstcb RSAM thread control block access

Personally I think that's a typo and 'access' should be 'address'.
Anyway, every thread has a tcb and threads involved in or waiting for
IO have an rstcb.
