Then use PostgreSQL if the very reasonable pricing of Informix is not
acceptable to you. You'll find mor e features than Online had.

Why do you want Online 5.x to be opensourced ?
Just to save your own licence costs ? or to grow marketshare ?

I remember someone at a talk saying that the legacy stuff (SE, Online
5)
gets hardly any bug reports and taking hardly any resource for IBM to
support.

Why would they opensource something that is such a good money maker?

So that a "bad" money maker is worth open source it?!

Maybe that was the case with Cloudscape... who knows?
