I have a question regarding LTAPEDEV being set to /dev/null and
performance, and will not have a chance to test until tomorrow.

During a mass load process, will having LTAPEDEV set to /dev/null
increase performance significantly over having LTAPEDEV go to a disk
file backup triggered using ALARMPROGRAM set to the standard
log_full.sh script?

I would in no way leave this setting in a production, but we are
seeing a significant difference between a high end pSeries server (4
processor, 8GB) and a low end Linux server (1 processor, 1GB) with
similar onconfigs. The one setting that stands out is LTAPEDEV being
set to /dev/null.
