Default new licenses... nothing in news.... - 06-09-2010 , 04:27 PM

Why until now have not seen any announcement from IBM in IT magazines aboutthe new licenses of Informix?

Just a curious situation....

If you search for "Informix"Â* into Google News , you don't find ANYTHING in english about the new licences...Â* on the contrary..Â* the first (or second) link will be :

Database Migration from Informix to SQL Server 2008
DatabaseJournalÂ*- ‎18/05/2010‎
Are you running your application against an Informix 11+ database? If so, have you ever wondered what it would take to move your database to SQL Server? ...
I already seen this article before and when the new Licenses are announced by IBM I post a comment there saying about the Ultimate-C .
Check here in google webcache:

I am widely known in the UK as the Informix champion of an Informix
partner of many years standing. I didn't hear anything about the new
licences until I just happened to call a colleague in tech support for
one of the distributors. He has given me a potted overview but that
is as much as I know. My employers are pursuing a policy of replacing
Informix sites with SQL Server based systems, and I am not at all
surprised. If IBM or partners are listening - WAKE UP.

regards

Malcolm
