Default libstdc++.so.5 error while installing informix - 10-22-2007 , 09:00 PM

Installation of IBM Informix Dynamic Server failed.
etc/brand: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

Please read the information below.

***** Error occurred during installation. Please refer to log file for
details.

Get the error above. doing slocate libstdc++.so.5 shows that I have multiple
instances on my harddrive
but for some reason the install doesn't see them. How do i point the program
to them or what
other workarounds are available for the problem. I've installed libaio64 as
the manual requies btw.

thanks you very much.

Give us a chance to help you - identify your platform and its version.

I suspect you have some version of Linux - but at this stage, only you
know for sure.

If it is Linux, you might need to specify where your libstdc++.so.5
files are via /etc/ld.so.conf or some similar file. Processes run by
root tend to ignore LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
