Hi everybody,

anyone try to replicate from a Informix V7.3 to a V10 or the oposite
way??

We have to migrate from v7.3 to v10 and for a secure back we want have
another instance
"up to date".

So the possibilities are:

A Primary V7.3 replicating V10
or a Primary V10 replicating V7.3

So if anyone has a sugestion ...

ER: possibly. HDR: no way. RTFineM: IDS Admin Guide, ch. 19,20
Both instances must be at the same version for HDR, along with many
other restrictions.

I've used ER from 9.3 to 7.31 in a live environment (and 10 to 7.31 in
test). It would take a lot to set up as each table must have a Primary
Key defined and each table must have its replicant defined
individually.
Surely a level 0 archive followed by a restore in the event of issues
is the best way.
I've performed an inplace upgrade from 7.31 to 10 on a test box with no issues.
