You'll work with a great R&D team on one of our leading edge healthcare applications and up and coming products. You will be responsible for database design and implementation including daily administration. Additional Duties Include: Performs administration of database systems in development, support, and QA environments, including backups, auditing, periodically installing and upgrading various database components, and standard maintenance, in coordination with responsible parties and the Database Analyst. Participates in requirements gathering and systems and project analysis by conducting and/or participating in meetings and/or system/ data model walkthroughs. Prepares technical documentation, manuals, and end-user how-to guides Provides direction and guidance to other programmer analysts and assists in enforcing standards and procedures. Complies with IT standards and procedures for quality assurance/ quality control, program specifications and structure, naming conventions and documentation as described in the standard operating procedures. Required Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree - 1 - 2 years experience with Informix databases - 1 - 2 years experience with UNIX. - SQL experience is preferred. - Prior experience on small to mid-size software development teams - Experience gathering and documenting system requirements - Be able to analyze/debug problems and be proactive in proposing and implementing solutions - 1 year lifecycle development experience, must include working within configuration control systems - Self starter, able to work and deliver with minimal supervision - Proven success as productive team member, demonstrate mature attitude and possess a sense of urgency. - Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies - Excellent written and oral communication - Demonstrates strong problem solving skills - Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States This position offers a competitive base salary and great benefit package with matching 401K, Education Reimbursement, Casual dress and more.
