Default informix.com - 11-27-2007 , 04:51 AM

I see that the landing page for www.informix.com has changed. It leads to
an "Informix Product Family" page which lists the data servers available
under "What We Officer".

Interestingly, although this has the U2 products and something called
wintergate, it doesn't have IDS!

Is it just me that finds this a bit odd? I've been to www.informix.com
twice in the past few days to get some general product information and have
had to go round the houses to get to the IDS pages.

Well, whatever the problem was, it now (2007-11-27 18:34 -08:00) looks
clean to me. The Informix web site now redirects you to
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix, and that looks to be a
regular Informix home page (no U2, no Wintergate) with 'What We Offer'.

The page has indeed been updated.

Yes, it's been fixed now. It was like that for at least a week though.

Hee hee!

One can only imagine the flurry of activity as somebody woke up the webmaster
from their deep sleep, passed them the wrong information, and then moved on
to talk about the next round of layoffs coming at IBM. I'm even willing to bet
the website is run from India, adding even more to the equation. Might even be
run by the same group that puts timebombs on developer editions.

Perhaps now someone will recall the phrase I used to describe what IBM
is doing with Informix. Killing it with papercuts.

The chance that the DB2 site is being treated with the same lack of
respect is precisely zero.

The IBM Worldwide Business Exec for Informix has apparently picked this up
and said it should be fixed by Monday.

Did he mention which Monday?

Apparently it hasn't been fixed by now. I get to
