Has anybody got INFORMIX-4GL Version 7.20.UD7 pcode Version 602 to work on Solaris 9 or does the 4gl have to be upgraded and everything recompiled?

Yes we have it running. You can not use TCPIP to connect from the
client to the database - 7.20.UD7 predates Solaris 8 when IPV6 support
was added to Solaris. Is that your problem? Best bet is to upgrade 4GL
to a version supported.
