Does anyone know when IDS will be supported on RedHat AS 5, which has been the latest version for some months now? IDS is certified on RHEL 5 for i686 and x86_64, see latest machine |
|
The continued absence of support for this version is costing some of our customers money, the reason being that the RedHat Cluster Manager software and Global File System softwareare included in AS 5, but have to be purchased separately (and in the case of GFS it's about £1,200 per node), which adds to the cost of an Informix cluster, possibly unnecessarily. Thanks |

Neil, The certification has been done with IDS 10.0xC6 so I recommend to upgrade. Tech Support has the info and you will get help if needed. bye Sandor Cheers. We're keeping all our customers away from xC6, as it has a worrying bug, and waiting to see if xC7 is any better. Are you able to confirm that we would not be refused support for xC5 on RHEL AS 5? thx _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list (AT) iiug (DOT) org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list |

You don't need GFS to run Cluster Mangler. It will work fine without it. But you will need to make sure to have fencing set up or RHCM will not work at all. |
|
You should definitely document what you do for this as it'd be a great presentation for others to learn from. |
