We are about to upgrade our main production server on HP-UX 11i (B11.11) to 9.40.FC3. 7.32.FC2 version of the tools. We are also upgrading the OS from 10.20, so this will be a clean install, loading data from flat files. What I want to ask is, how do you guys find the 9.40 version of the engine? Is it stable; are there any important known bugs I should be aware of? Anything to be aware of when I set up the engine, or load the data? Also is anyone running on HP-UX that has any OS specific input? |

If it were me I would not revert the database server and OS in one fell swoop. But then I'm quite conservative. Not so conservative that I'd still be on HP-UX 10.20 now though ... :-) |

Not so conservative that I'd still be on HP-UX 10.20 now though ... :-) This is obviously good advice, it's the same advice I gave my boss. So what we did was to upgrade the engine to the latest version available on 10.20 first (9.21) from 7.3. Of course we couldn't do the OS upgrade first because you can't get the 7 version of the engine any more. The 9.21 version of the engine has given us nothing but problems, so we really don't want to stick with it after the OS upgrade. So, anyway, that's what has brought us to this point, and I appreciate the replies thus far. |
