Hello!

I've installed IDS 9.21 + IConnect on our Tru64 4.0F - Box and was able to
connect the database over ODBC. Everything was ok. After this successful
beginning, we installed IBM-Informix-ISQL 7.31 (Developer-Version) on the
same Box. After installation IDS had problems with msg-files and wasn't
coming up, we reinstalled IDS 9.21 and the server was coming up without
problems.

Now IConnect does not work. If we try to connect over odbc or dbping, we get
an error -908. All configuration-files are unchanged. (On Client and on
Server) IConnect 2.40TC1, Version was delivered in July 2001 from Informix
with IDS.2000 9.21 on same CD. IBM-Informix-ISQL 7.31 is on other CD,
delivered in April 2003.

Does this combination not work (IDS 9.21 + IConnect + ISQL 7.31) ?

Any hints?

Just suggestion.

Are you using shared memory connection ?
i.e) in your sqlhosts
servername onipcshm hostname service_name

we use tcp_socket to connect to the db with odbc.

entry in our sqlhosts:

newgandalftcp onsoctcp newgandalf sqlexec

(sqlexec as servicename is because of historical reasons)
