Well that error does seem to come from the code where the server is
getting the group id of the directory structure with the group id of
the entry for informix from the password file. So while user informix
is probably in group informix, is group informix it's primary group,
or the group id from the password file?

Hi Renaut,

Ok here''s some examples from my unix workstation.

If I grep user informix out of the /etc/passwd file I get the
following:

informix:x:200:102::/export/home/informix:/bin/ksh

So informix userid is 200, and it's primary groupid is 102. So, from
what I said in my previous post, groupid 102 has to then be group
informix. So here would be an example of some /etc/group output that
would be incorrect.

/etc/group:
tech::102:
informix::103:informix

So in the above example, user informix's primary group is tech, but it
then also in group informix.

So to fix this, so that user informix's primary group was informix,
you would then need to modify /etc/passwd file group id and replace
102 with 103, and if you still needed to have user informix in group
tech, add informix into the tech group line of the /etc/group file.
