DB2 Version : LUW, DB2 v9.7.0.3
Operating Sys: AIX 5.3
Type : DPF (more than 40 nodes on different LPARs)
Size: more than 10 TB

Issue: User Joe sporadically loses SELECT access to
SYSIBMADM.APPLICATIONS

As explained below.

db2 "select SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP from SYSIBMADM.APPLICATIONS"

SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP
--------------------------
SQL1092N "JOE" does not have the authority to perform the requested
command or operation.

db2 "select SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP from SYSIBMADM.APPLICATIONS"
SNAPSHOT_TIMESTAMP

2011-05-20-08.27.24.968179

id
uid=30954(joe) gid=1(staff) groups=2302(db2smon1)

db2 get dbm cfg |grep SYSMON
SYSMON group name (SYSMON_GROUP) = DB2SMON1

Any explaination for this behavior please?.

Thanks

Anything written at the time in DB2DIAG.Log ? or PLUGIN.LOG ?
