Default Percentage of companies using Db2 versions? - 03-23-2011 , 04:09 PM

Is there any resource available that can tell me which DB2 versions
are still in a production level environment? I'm putting together a
presentation of the lifecycle of DB2 for my company, and this question
popped up.

Thanks,
Chris

If you are interested in what DB2 versions customers are actually using,
then download one of The DB2Night Show recordings from this website. They
usually take a poll of the audience on such topics.

Generally we find that many customers are adopting a "skip-release"
approach. So that unless specific features drive them the DB2 9.1
customers go up to 9.7 while the 9.5 customers are waiting for DB2 Next.
That averages out to a 3-4 year cycle between major release upgrades.

Cheers
Serge
