Default DB2 Connect from AS/400 to OS/390 - 08-25-2003 , 02:53 PM

I would like to be able to connect to DB2 on OS/390 from an AS/400
system. I am familiar with the various techniques for connecting to
mainframe DB2 from distributed systems, but have no experience with
AS/400 and am not sure what product is needed to accomplish this (if
any).

Thanks for any direction on this.

Andrew,

If memory serves me correctly, no additional software is necessary. You
might want to take a look at

http://www-3.ibm.com/cgi-bin/db2www/.../en_main#V8PDF

Specifically at the "Connectivity Supplement" ... Chapter 4 and Chapter
6. You will eventually need to reference the relevant parts of the
As/400 documentation library and the DB2/390 library.

You are correct. The iSeries (AS/400) DRDA support is integrated into the base
operating system.
