Hello all, Not sure if this is the right place, but I have a problem and if anybody could help me, I would apritiate it. One of our clients was using SQLBase for some old application (accounting) two years ago. Then they switched to new software by some other provider, but was still using Gupta for some old stuff. We left it at one NT4 server, and all was good since couple days ago. Server crashed. We desided to restore NT4 server to a VirtualPC, what went perfectlly. Since only one user need access to gupta, I was thinking to start VPC on his machine when it is needed. But, there's a problem. I can make it to work on two VPCs, one as client and one as server. But I would like it to run on only one machine, but client software just wouldn't connect to server when running on the same machine. I was trying almost everything, but I don't know a sh..t about gupta. Don't get me wrong, I believe it's a nice software, but I never used it before; so I tryed to find some manuals, but hey, that's old. Current version is 9, i believe, and there's no support for mine old version. So, my question is, how to make it work on the same machine (I tried copying client files to server and vice versa, but client just can't connect to server). Help please, Domagoj P.S. sorry on long letter and bad english, but I wasn't sure if I'm clear enough. |
