I have SQLBase version 7.5.1 on my server which I had upgraded from v6.x.
I tried using the REORGANIZE command and I get error 448, "DBS version
incompatible with software." I opened the .dbs file in Word and noticed
the
second line had: V6.5A Cvt from 6.5. This seems to indicate that the
version on the .dbs file did not get upgraded. If I change the above to
7.5.1 will that change the version? Is there anyplace else in the .dbs
where I need to change the version? Is there a better or safer way to
change the version? I have the 7.6.0 disk but I didn't want to introduce
more than one variable after I encountered the 448.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
By any chance, do you get the same error when you issue a CREATE DATABASE
statement? If so, the problem is probably in your start.dbs and not in the
converted dbs.

Make a unload, create a new database and make a load then...
this should fix your problem.
