Ok, so I finally got around to upgrading my home FMP 8.5 to v2 (upgraded work FMP when it came out & that's usually where I design). Well, I had some time (for a change) and made a small DB at home. Then I noticed I was still on v1 - so I downloaded and upgraded to v2. I opened up the DB I had just made and it was huge! Fields near the left edge, were now off the screen. No biggie, I'll set the zoom back to 100%... oh, wait, it's already at 100%??? Weird. So I set the zoom at 75%, and it appears to look like it did pre-upgrade at 100%. However, when I print, it prints the left edge fields off the paper - obviously printing at 100%. Ideas on why it did this? Thanks. |

I'm afraid I can't help you with the "why", but I can tell you that FileMaker's display system has been a little flakey for a while. |

I'm afraid I can't help you with the "why", but I can tell you that FileMaker's display system has been a little flakey for a while. Yup, but I have never had this happen before. It's not really a big deal, I just moved everything over a bit and added a Set Zoom to my opening script. I'm going to think of it as a "feature", then try to forget all of the other bug...er...um... features. But seriously, FMP is a pleasure to work with compared to using SQL, Visual Studio & .NET Framework - of which I am starting to deal with at work. I guess each has it's good & bad sides, but the Microsoft development side has far less good sides - well... that it's willing to show me anyway. 8^) |
