Default WEB access - 10-15-2005 , 02:50 AM

I'm using Instant Web publishing to publish my database
I can only connect in a LAN (my workgroup) inputing the host address

How can I connect from another LAN outside (internet cafe) ?

I'm using FM8

I would like them to connect directly to my computer, is it possible?
do I have to use my static IP and then my computers IP?

I have read the instand web publishing manual... and still nothing

Thankx

Savvas,

This has more to do with how you've configured your network than with
FileMaker.

Basically, you need to "poke a hole" in your firewall. Typically this would
mean going to the configuration screens in your router and using the "port
forwarding" screen. For example, everything coming in on port 80 should be
forwarded to the computer hosting the FileMaker Pro database.

(If you are using a different port for FileMaker IWP then use that port.)

I hope this gets you started...

Bill
