Default Trying to open database - 02-27-2007 , 10:00 AM

Was sent a database from an internal client, a Filemaker Pro database,
not sure which version, but it isn't brand new.

Downloaded and installed a trial version of Filemaker Pro 8.5. Am
prompted for an account and password. User supplied a password which I
have, but user insists no account name was ever needed to be supplied.

So...as expected I cannot open the database, nor can I use the Guest
Account to gain access to it either.

Thoughts?

Thanks

During a conversion to newer version, I have seen the Password
required as both ID & Password - give it a go...

Just tried, and no go unfortunately.

The database oddly enough is only 12KB in size, I created a new empty
database file and it is 36KB. I'm thinking it is corrupt but I can't
be sure. The recover tool did help either, essentially just made a
copy of the database.

Thanks...

Hi.

The general default account name for Filemaker Pro 7 onwards is simply
'admin'. Give this a try.
