Hi,
Troubleshooting Server External Authentication
Setup :
DomainServer is a Windows SBS 2000 Domain controller
FMServer is windows 2003 server
Client machine is a XP station
User1 is member of DomainServer\GroupX
Testfile.fp7 on FMServer on has Accounts and Privileges defined as such
Account = GroupX
Type = External server
Privilege set = Full Access
Now, as far as I can see,
User1 as a member of the DomainServer\GroupX should be able to access Testfile.fp7 on FMServer without entering any more credentials. Credentials should be supplied by the DomainServer (=domain controller).
(This is as specified in, Scenario2 in the Server External Authentication.pdf from Filemaker Inc.)
However this is not working.
If I test create User1 in a GroupX group on FM server then he has access.
So I figure that FM server is not connecting correctly to DomainServer when looking elsewhere for authentication. I can't see where I can suggest or force my FMserver to go look for credentials. Either FMServer cannot find the DomainServer, can't connect, can't negotiate ....
Is there a checklist somewhere for setting that up correctl ?
TIA
