Default Tab in calculation - 01-05-2010 , 02:16 PM

FMP10: my script should write "-" and a tab into a text field. Can I put
the tab into the calculation?

In Windows, you can use CTRL-tab to insert a tab character into a calc.
Not sure what it is for Mac.

Haven't found a combination that worked. While trying, I tried putting
the tab into a text field, copy it to the clipboard and insert that into
the calc. It seems that this works.

On the Mac, Control-Tab (or maybe it is Option-Tab?) works when typing into
a Text field, but not in the Calculation window.

One of the first things I often do when creating a new database is to define
two Global Fields and paste a Tab into one and type a " into the other.
Saves a lot of frustration and messing about later.

A Tab and a speech / quote mark. The two characters that are difficult or
cumbersome to type into calculations and Script commands.
