Default Sorting value lists that are created from other fields - 11-02-2005 , 09:40 AM

I have a few value lists that are made up from repeating fields in
related tables to my main database. That works fine, except Filemaker
seems set on sorting the entries in the value list from 1 to 9, or from
a to z. Is there any way to reverse the sorting - or, preferably, not
sort at all?

Unfortunately, no.

If you "hard-code" your VL, you can specify the order, even add dividing
lines with a single hyphen.

If you take the list from the values in a field, they will be sorted as
you describe.
